Basketball teams fall to Fenton
The girls’ and boys’ basketball teams lost at Fenton on Feb. 13.
Girls
The girls lost 57-31.
The first quarter began with the Hornets scoring eight points, and Fenton scoring 12.
By halftime, the Hornets fell further behind, and Fenton had the game under control. The Hornets added six points, while Fenton scored 17.
Kearsley’s top scorer was junior Karmen Bishoff, scoring 11 points.
Sophomore Rachel Tolley added seven points, and sophomore Britney Dick scored six.
The girls’ record is 2-15 overall, 0-12 in the Flint Metro League.
Boys
The boys lost 83-80 in overtime, after Fenton a 3-pointer at the end of regulation to force the overtime.
In the extra quarter, the Hornets were out scored by Fenton 14-11.
The Hornet’s top scorers were seniors Jalen Galery and Bryce Jenkins, scoring 26 and 20 points, respectively.
Junior Deitrick Young also added 17 points.
The boys are 8-7 overall, 6-6 in the Flint Metro League.
