Symphonic band focuses on upcoming concerts
The Kearsley band marches off the football field and on to the stage for symphonic season.
The band will have two concerts this year Dec. 6 and May 9.
The theme for the concert in December will be centered around the holidays, and the concert in May will be partially pop themed with some other music.
Ms. Alison Phelps, band director, thinks this year will be different from previous years of symphonic band, because this year the band is larger as a whole.
“This year’s band has about 72 members,” Phelps said. “Last year we had about 60 members, and in years before that we had around 40 band members.”
At this rate, Phelps hopes to eventually get around 100 to 120 members in the band.
Bethany Karram, sophomore, is feeling good about having more members this year.
“I think we have a fuller sound,” Karram said.

This is very well written. What a talented young woman. She may be my niece but she sure has put her words down very well. Nice Article about the Symphonic Band.
