Some members of Melody Makers enjoy their visit to the SpongeBob store in Universal Studios during their trip to Orlando in March.

Kearsley’s Melody Makers headed to Orlando, Fla., on Friday, March 23, for a four-day weekend of fun and competition.

The choir raised money all year for this trip, and members were excited to attend.

Saturday was filled with fun for the Melody Makers.

The group made its way to the choral and instrumental competition of bands and choirs from across the nation.

The choir did an amazing job and worked together well.

The awards ceremony took place that night, and the choir was a bit nervous. They competed against schools from 10 states.

Melody Makers received two silver awards for its performances. The were just a few points away from achieving the gold.

They also were awarded the school spirit award, even though they were the smallest group to attend.

The choir then visited Universal Studios for entertainment.

They were given the opportunity to roam the park Saturday evening and see some of their favorite spots.

They also explored the park Sunday.

Senior Lauren Pariseau loved the trip and was thankful for the opportunity.

“We went to Margaritaville for dinner and ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp,” Pariseau said. “I also got to see the SpongeBob sight, and I loved it.”
