For junior Stephen White, golfing has been a common activity in his life ever since he was able to swing a toy club.

“I started playing relatively often and competitively in 2007 at Flint Junior Golf,” White said.

White also spent time playing with his father, Mr. Stephen White.

“I practiced with my father, who is an avid golfer as well,” White said.

With the golf season kicking off, he looks forward to another season with Mr. Andy Nester, golf coach.

“Mr. Nester is a great coach and has taught me so much since I started playing at KHS,” White said.

Although White has no interest in pursing a college team or professional career with golf, he plans to continue enjoying the sport on his own time.

“I enjoy and will continue to play and improve my game,” White said. “However, for college I will not play except in my own free time.”

If weather permits, the first golf event will be a league match against Brandon at the Flint Elks on Tuesday, April 17.

The schedule can be found on the Kearsley Athletic page.
