Girls basketball wins district game, final league contest

The girls basketball team played two games against Clio in the last week, winning both.

District Tournament

The Hornets beat Clio 66-41 on their home court Monday, Feb. 26, in the first round of an MHSAA Class A district tournament.

Sophomores Jakiera Wash and Sydney Walker led with 15 and 14 points, receptively.

The team now has a 16-5 overall record.

The next game is Wednesday, Feb. 28, when they face Saginaw Arthur Hill.

Final League Game

Ending the regular season at home, Kearsley downed the Clio Mustangs 71-47 on Friday, Feb. 23.

They key scorers were junior Zaria Mitchner with 23 points.

In addition, Wash scored 15 points and Mackenzie Ramey knocked down 14 points.

The team ended 13-3 in the Flint Metro League, tied for second place with Fenton.

Flushing won the league championship with a 15-1 record.
