Girls basketball wins at Owosso, falls to Hamady

The girls basketball game split it games that bookended the weekend.

On Friday, Feb. 16, Kearsley spoiled Owosso’s senior night by outscoring the Trojans 25-2 in the first quarter.

The full-court pressure Kearsley applied was too much for the Trojans, and Kearsley never looked back, beating Owosso 54-32.

On Monday, Feb. 19, Kearsley traveled to Hamady to face off against the Hawks.

The Hornets lost 57-50.

Key scorers were junior Mackenzie Ramey with 15 points and junior Zaria Mitchner with nine points.

Kearsley’s record stands at 14-5 overall, 12-3 in the Flint Metro League.

The Hornets are in second place in the league behind Flushing, who is 13-1 on league play.

The next game is Friday, Feb. 23, at home against Clio.
