This 1786 painting is called Oberon, Titania and Puck with Fairies Dancing, which is a scene from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
Roles for the spring play, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” have been cast.
A comedy written by William Shakespeare, the play tells the story of two couples who run away to the woods to be together.
In the same woods, a group of actors is putting on a play. A group of fairies also roams about the forest.
Throughout the play, these three groups interact and hi-jinx ensues.
Brandon Hart has been cast into the lead role of Puck, a mischievous fairy who pulls pranks on the people. He does this under orders from the fairy king, Oberon, who will be played by Chance Wikaryasz.
These two fairies pull pranks on the two couples, Helena (Julie Lemon) and Demetrius (Taylor Stockton), and Hermia (Emily Harper) and Lysander (Cody Young).
These two couples end up in a love triangle because of the fairies.
The lead actor in the group of actors, Peter Quince, will be played by Rian Schulz. Nick Bottom, actor, will be played by Mitchell Judd. This group is trying to put on a well-known play, “Pyramus and Thisbe,” but they are horrible actors.
Comedy should be abundant in this play, with love triangles, bad actors, and fairies.
Mr. John Hall will co-direct this play with Mrs. Laura Hall.
Mrs. Hall said, “The dynamic cast who will star in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ will again put on a show that everyone will want to see.”
The play will be performed March 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. and on March 8 at 2:30 p.m.
Further information on the cast can be found outside of Mr. Hall’s door, Room 110.
