Boys basketball brought down by Fenton
The boys basketball team lost a close game to the Fenton Tigers 50-48 on Friday, Feb. 2, at Fenton.
The Hornets started the game strong, leading against the Tigers 20-13 in the first quarter.
At halftime, Kearsley remained in the lead 27-23 while Fenton trailed closely behind.
At the end of the third quarter, the Hornets still held the lead 36-33, seniors Devyn Sredich and Jack Vollmar both scoring seven points.
Despite leading most of the game, the team was unable to keep up with the Tigers in the end.
Kearsley’s top scorer was Vollmar with 10 points.
Sredich scored eight points, and freshman Jace Chapman tipped in 8 points, as well.
Kearsley’s record now stands 6-8 overall, 2-8 in the League.
The next game is Tuesday, Feb. 6, on the Hornets’ home court. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
