The boys basketball team played a pair of games in the last week, winning one and losing one.
Swartz Creek
The Hornets lost 76-50 to Swartz Creek on its home court Friday, Jan. 5.
Senior Ta’veon Harris and junior Saif Dawan led with 15 and 9 points, respectively.
The Hornets are now 3-5 overall, 0-4 in the league.
The next game is at Linden on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m.
LakeVille
Kearsley defeated LakeVille 79-33 on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
The key scorer was junior Saif Dawan with a season high of 19 points.
Dawan said the team played well.
“I feel like my tough defense led to an easy offense early in the game,” Dawan said. “We played good, aggressive defense. Everyone on the team pushes to perform well.”
Senior Gavin Etson and junior Trevor Shaheen were also important players, both scoring 11 points.
