The competitive cheer team is back and better than ever.

A group of 24 talented girls have high hopes for this new season.

The team’s last season was successful, having won league and district championships and also finishing in seventh place at the state final.

Coach Brooke Sharrard, the new coach, doesn’t believe the team has any weaknesses.

“I don’t believe the team will have ‘weaknesses,'” said Sharrard. “However, the ability to conquer fundamentals and gain little points where they really matter is something they need to work on.”

The team’s first competition, the Competitive Cheer Coaches of Michigan Association Scholarship Invitational at Troy High School, is on Saturday, Dec. 9.
