Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ is fresh, empowering
Taylor Swift released her new album “Reputation” in early November.
Swift has shocked us once again with her exclusive sound of electronic pop.
The record has 15 tracks in total.
This album makes several references to Taylor’s altercations with other celebrities.
In her first single, “Look What You Made Me Do,” Swift talks about the controversy between her and rapper Kanye West.
One lyric says, “Don’t like your tilted stage.” This is referring to the tilted stage West used during his Saint Pablo Tour.
In another song, “Gorgeous,” Swift talks about how her attraction for a boy’s physical features becomes more important than his other qualities. She sings, “And you are so gorgeous it makes me so mad.”
The majority of the songs talk about the controversy circulating about her in the media. She talks about her unnamed ex-boyfriends and blowups between her and other A-list celebrities.
The lyrics are empowering, showcasing that you can get through the hate that others throw at you.
Swift is making a comeback despite the hate she has received, and that is tough.
I enjoy many of the songs on the record and can see many of them making the charts.
Swift isn’t new to the limelight. Her debut single “Look What You Made Me Do” snatched the No.1 spot while breaking many records. She has also had many other songs make the charts in the past.
I think it’s safe to say we will be seeing more of Swift in years to come. With her die-hard fan base and unique style, she will continue to prevail.
