Girls’ bowling hook their competition, win tournament
The girls’ bowling team claimed their first tournament win of the year on Jan. 4 at the Lila Furnish Classic Tournament in Owosso.
Once the Hornets made it into the final four, the Hornets shot games of 192 and 179 to beat Jackson and move on to the finals.
In the finals, the Hornets faced their long-time rival — the Swartz Creek Dragons.
With games of 128 and 155, the Hornets beat the Dragons and clinched the tournament.
The tournament consisted of a qualifying block of 12 baker games.
The Hornets came out of the qualifying block seeded first by almost 300 pins.
Kearsley shot games of 178 and 156, beating Holt in the quarterfinals.
