Taveon Harris leads boys track at Davison Twilight Classic
The boys track team finished seventh in the large school division with 41 points at the Davison Twilight Classic, Friday, May 12.
Fenton won the meet with 120 points.
Junior Taveon Harris led the Hornets in points.
In the 100-meter dash, Taveon Harris placed first with a time of 11.27, which was a personal record.
Senior Erick July placed fifth in the 100, his time was 11.63, while junior Tommy Plunkey was eighth in 11.70.
Taveon Harris also finished in fifth place in the 200, finishing in 23.40.
Freshman Raydoffa Braziel ran the 800, finishing in 2:09.91, which was good enough for seventh place.
In the 110 high hurdles, senior Hunter Stanley placed fifth, with a time of 17.39, while junior Gavin Etson followed him in seventh place with a time of 17.66.
Stanley also placed fourth in the 300 hurdles, finishing in 42.56.
The 400 relay team of Tre’Ron Griffin, Plunkey, July, and Taveon Harris placed third. Their time was 45.64.
In field events, sophomore Eddie Harris finished in fourth place for the shot put. His distance was 46 feet, 2 inches.
In the discus, sophomore Dylan Buschur threw 135-11, a personal record. This was enough to earn him third place.
Junior Gavin Etson placed sixth in the long jump event. He jumped 18-07.
The Hornets’ next meet will be an MHSAA Division I regional meet, Friday, May 19, at Saginaw Heritage.
