Soccer beats Carman-Ainsworth to start season
The soccer team knocked off Carman-Ainsworth on the road 2-0 on Monday, March 27.
The first half ended in a tie, but in the second half junior Marysa Gatica scored the first point of the game.
Shortly afterward, sophomore Amber Hardy assisted a goal by sending the ball to Gatica, who scored her second goal of the game.
Gatica said, “We did pretty well considering it’s the beginning of the season and we’re still learning how to work together.
Senior Makenna Hass tallied one save to preserve the shutout for the Hornets.
Shot totals for the game were 13-1 in favor of Kearsley.
The Hornets play next on Wednesday at Oxford in a 7 p.m. game.
