Baseball splits with Brown City
The baseball team split a doubleheader against Brown City on Thursday, May 19.
The Hornets won the first game 5-1 on a strong pitching performance.
Senior Brennan Colley took the mound at 4 p.m. and did not exit the game until it was over. Colley only allowed one run in the complete game effort.
Senior Zack Broughton also earned his first hit of the season.
Game two was a high-scoring effort, but The Hornets fell 12-10.
The Green Devils had to put up a high number of runs to keep up with Kearsley senior Nolan Crannie, who drove in seven runs.
Crannie earned four of his RBI on an inside-the-park home run.
The team is now 7-17 on the season, and 2-11 in the Metro League.
The Hornets are closing out their season soon and will look to start a late-season push at Clio on Monday, May 23.
