Baseball wins one in duo of doubleheaders
The baseball team competed against Holly on Monday, April 18, and against Frankenmuth, on Wednesday, April 20.
The Hornets played in four games, and averaged 5.5 runs among them.
Wednesday, April 20
The Hornets took one game and lost the other against Frankenmuth.
Frankenmuth won the first game 12-4.
However, the Hornets bounced back in the second game, winning 12-3.
Senior Josh Walters led the team offensively with two doubles.
Also tallying two hits were seniors Nolan Crannie and Noah Jankowski.
Dominating on the mound was Mitchell Conely, who earned his first win of the season.
Monday, April 18
The Hornets went to Holly to challenge the Bronchos, but lost both games of the doubleheader.
In the first game, an 8-3 loss, Jankowski hit three times, which was the highlight of the game.
The second game was no better for the Hornets. They lost 10-3.
Senior Ryan Bennett led the team with two hits.
The team is now 2-8 on the season and is heading to Owosso Friday, April 22, for the K-O Clash.
