Kearsley’s track teams competed in a double-dual meet at Fenton.

The girls’ and boys’ track teams traveled to Fenton on Wednesday, April 20, to compete in a double dual-meet against Fenton and Holly.

Boys

The boys lost to Holly 79-58, and tied with Fenton,  each team scoring 68.5 points.

Senior Matt Parkinson finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.87, and he finished first in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.71.

Finishing first in the 400 dash, with a time of 55.7, was senior Jonathan McKay.

Junior Hunter Stanley finished second in the 300 hurdles in 45.35.

The 800-relay team of Dakotah Doman, Tre’Ron Griffin, Taveon Harris, and McKay finished first with a time of 1:35.49.

The 1600 relay consisted of the same four boys and finished first in 3:40.44.

Freshman Dylan Buscher and junior Jamelco Harvey tied for first in the shot put, both throwing distances of 38 feet 11 inches.

Buscher also took second place in discus with a distance of 95-06.

Junior Demonte Wheat took second place in the high jump with a height of 5-8.

Girls

Junior Aver McKay took first place in multiple events, including the 100 dash (13.58), the 200 dash (27.54), and the 400 dash (1:01.83).

Placing second in shot put and discus was sophomore Quashayla Johnson, throwing 29-6 in the shot and 77-09 in the discus .

Senior Miranda Lumetta placed second in the high jump with a height of 4-2.

The scores of the meet were not reported.

The boys’ and girls’ track teams will be traveling to Owosso on Friday, April 22, to participate in K-O Clash. The meet starts at 4 p.m.
