Baseball team drops doubleheader to Flushing
The baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader against Flushing on Thursday, April 14.
The Hornets fell to 1-3 overall this season and allowed a combined 26 runs between the two contests.
Flushing pitcher Tyler Randick came out with the win in game one, giving up only four hits to the Hornets.
Senior Nolan Crannie’s two hits were the only bright spot for the Hornets in the 13-1 loss.
The Raiders were led offensively by Alex Bowden, who scored three runs for his team.
Kearsley improved in the second game but still fell short 13-3.
Pitcher Brennan Colley, senior, had a strong performance on the mound. Colley pitched five solid innings for his Hornets, giving up only one run.
Things fell apart after Colley left the bump, as Flushing’s Bryce Canada scored three runs to support winning pitcher Bailey Stutzman.
The team will have the weekend to rest after playing four games in two days, and head out to Holly to face the Bronchos at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 18.
