‘The Jungle Book’ roars its way to the top
As a movie fanatic, I have viewed good and bad computer generated imagery.
Much to my surprise, “The Jungle Book” had outstanding CGI.
Many movies do not portray animal life realistically like “The Jungle Book” did.
Sitting with a bucket of fresh popcorn and a Coca-cola slushie, my friends and I were excited to see a childhood movie that we all adored.
The opening scene captured the entire audience’s attention.
It began with Mowgli (Neel Sethi), a boy adopted by a pack of wolves, running through the jungle.
It appeared that he was running from something, but really he was just running with his wolf family, back to their den.
The animals in the jungle lived by their pacts and respect their laws.
During a drought, they had a “water truce,” where no animal can harm each other while drinking from the only remaining watering source.
Shere Khan (Idris Elba), an unruly and cruel tiger, meets Mowgli while drinking water.
Shere Khan was burned by fire, or ” the red flower” as the animals of the jungle referred to it, by a man.
He addressed Mowgli as a man-cub, who eventually became a man and killed the animals in the jungle.
Shere Khan obeyed the water truce, but confronted Mowgli and his wolf family.
Shere Khan roared and declared that once the drought ended, he would kill Mowgli.
Once the drought ended, Bagheera (Ben Kignsley), the panther that found Mowgli as a child, attempted to take him back to the man village in a desperate attempt to save his life.
“The Jungle Book” is rated PG and is a great movie for all ages.
Because the effects and the plot were well portrayed and beautifully done, I advise everyone to go and see it.
The movie, released into theaters Friday, April 15, was a huge success, earning $103.6 million dollars, outshining both “Barbershop” and “Criminal.”
“The Jungle Book” is available to watch in 2D and 3D.
I give this movie five out of five stars.
