Boys’ mathletes team takes ninth place
KHS places fifth with combined score
Eight mathletes went to Mott Community College on Friday, March 18, to compete in the 11th annual MCC Math competition.
The students came prepared and ready to get their math on.
Team B, which was made up of boys, was equipped with their calculators and placed ninth.
This team consisted of seniors Robert Alarie, Brennen Diehl, Levi Madar, and Josh Richard.
Diehl was proud of how his team placed.
“It felt awesome to represent Kearsley in the competition,” Diehl said. “I really enjoyed partaking in the event and am very happy with how everyone did.”
Team A, which was the girls’ team, also put in a strong effort, getting 17th place.
Team A competitors were seniors Katie Valley, Kayla Smith, Taylor Stockton, and Shelby Coates.
As a whole, Kearsley’s combined score placed the mathletes fifth out of 10 schools.
“Everyone worked very hard at the competition and did an amazing job at working as a team,” Diehl said.
