’10 Cloverfield Lane’ keeps audiences in suspense

“10 Cloverfield Lane” came out in theaters on Friday, March 11.

“10 Cloverfield Lane” took audiences by storm Friday, March 11, when it hit theaters all around the globe.

The exciting plot keeps audience members on their toes as they are left to question what will happen next.

In the opening scene, a woman named Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) is on the phone with someone, arguing. Michelle then packs a bunch of her belongings and leaves her home in the city.

Michelle takes her eyes off the road for a second when her car gets slammed by a truck, causing her to roll into a ditch.

Michelle wakes up with a head wound and a needle in her arm hooked to a saline drip while she is in a small room that looks much like a prison cell. To her horror, she sees her leg is chained to a pipe.

Someone comes downstairs to open the door to the room. It is a man named Howard (John Goodman). He claims to have rescued Michelle from the car accident and is keeping her alive.

Howard claims there is going to be an attack and that Michelle must stay downstairs so she can survive.

But what is the attack?

Once Michelle is unchained from the pole she takes it upon herself to wander out of her room. She meets another man who is also hiding from the attack outside.

His name is Emmett (John Gallagher Jr.) and appears more friendly than Howard.

Emmett has his arm in a sling, which causes Michelle to wonder how the injury happened and how he knew about the bunker that Howard built.

Michelle is still not buying the story about the attack taking place outside.

Eventually Howard earns Michelle’s trust … but not for long.

Michelle makes aggressive attempts to escape the bunker, but is she able to make it out?

Traces of other human beings attempting to escape the bunker lead Michelle and Emmett to the realization that they need to escape. But how?

Was there really an attack?

Don’t be put off by the amount of detail given in the previews on TV, the movie is a whirlwind of plot twists and turns.

A new complication continually arises.

For those who love a little bit of action, this suspenseful movie is perfect.

In addition, you will have to decipher which character you will trust in “10 Cloverfield Lane.”

I rate this movie five out of five stars.
