Swim team beats Carman-Ainsworth
The swim team squeezed past Carman-Ainsworth by only five points Thursday, Jan. 7.
Kearsley won 77-72 on the strength of three swimmers in particular.
Senior Trent Kehoe and sophomores Noel Nowacki and Ricky Jackson swept all four of their events.
The Hornets won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:56.88.
The team consisted of Jackson, Nowacki, Kehoe, and senior Montrell Herrington.
Kehoe also placed first in the 200 IM in 2:29:62.
Herrington also won the diving event with a score of 161.90. He said even though the team is small, it swam hard.
“We have a small team but we put forth our best effort, so we pulled ahead,” Herringon said.
Placing first in the 100 butterfly was Nowacki, swimming it in 59.71.
Kearsley finished first with a time of 1:47.55, in the 200 freestyle relay as well.
The winning team consisted of Nowacki, Jackson, Herrington, and Kehoe.
Jackson placed first in the 100 backstroke, and Kehoe placed first in the 100 breaststroke.
The Hornets ended the meet with a victory, taking first in the 400 freestyle relay with Nowacki, freshmen Joe Yorks and Robert Parkhurst, and Kehoe.
The relay team finished in 4:53.78.
