Junior Chandler Ford led the Hornets with 13 points against Mt. Morris Tuesday, Dec. 8.

The boys’ basketball team opened its season last night, Dec. 9, against Mt. Morris. The team fell to the Panthers 35-43.

Junior Chandler Ford contributed 13 points to the score, leading the Hornets.

He, along with others, felt that the team did not play to its fullest potential.

“Being such a young team, we didn’t know what to expect, but now all we can do is keep our heads up and focus on Friday,” Ford said.

The Hornets struggled in the second quarter, only scoring three points, but successfully knocked down 23 points in the third.

The team is 0-1 and is looking for its first win against Swartz Creek this Friday, Dec. 11. Tip off is at 7 p.m. at home.
