‘Lion King’ fans will enjoy Disney’s ‘The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar’

Disney Junior and Disney Channel introduced a new television series in November called “The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar.”

“The Lion Guard” is based on “The Lion King” and the TV series “Timon and Pumbaa,” which ran from 1995 to 1999.

“The Lion Guard” is good, and if you like “The Lion King” and want to add on to what you already know about “The Lion King” then this is a good show for you to watch.

As of right now there is only one show for “The Lion Guard.” There will not be anymore shows until January of 2016.

The TV series “Timon and Pumbaa” was basically just the story of how Timon and Pumbaa find each other and find their dream home.

“The Lion King” came out before most of us were born. If you have seen “The Lion King” and liked the movies, then this TV series is for you.

Teens should watch “The Lion Guard” because it would bring back memories of when they were little.

Sophmore Meaghan Savage is excited to watch the new show and her favorite movie was “The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride.”

“I think that the show will be better than the movies,” Savage said.

“The Lion Guard” takes place after the original film and its 1998 sequel “The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride.”

The characters that will appear in the TV series that were in the movies are Timon, Pumbaa, Simba, Nala, Kiara, Rafiki, Zazu, and Mufasa.

The main character is Kion (voiced by Max Charles), the son of Simba (Rob Lowe) and Nala (Gabrielle Union).

Simba, who was raised by Timon and Pumbaa after he lost his father because of his uncle, Scar, is the current leader of the Pride Land.

He came back to the Pride Land to claim his spot as king.

If Nala had not come to find Simba, then the evil Scar would have become the leader of the Pride Land, and there would not have been a story to tell.

Kion, who is the prince of the Pride Lands, is destined to be the new Lion Guard.

Kiara (voiced by Eden Riegel), Kion’s older sister, is the Princess of the Pride Land.

Kion and his friends Fuli (the cheetah), Beshte (the hippopotamus), Ono (the cattle egret), and Bunga (the honey badger) form The Lion Guard.

The members of The Lion Guard are played by Diamond White (Fuli), Dusan Brown (Beshte), Atticus Shaffer (Ono), and Joshua Rush (Bunga).

There will be not only characters from both of the movies, but there will also be glimpses of the certain things from the movies.

One of the things people will notice is that Bunga is holding a piece of fruit in the exact spot on Pride Rock where Rafiki  held Simba in the original “Lion King.”

For those who have not seen it, in the first movie, after Simba was born, Rafiki takes some juice from a piece of fruit and wipes it on Simba’s forehead.

He then walks to the edge of Pride Rock and holds Simba up in the air so that all the animals can see their next king.

Another thing people will notice is that Kion looks into the water, like his father did in “Simba’s Pride,” to see his destiny.

Mufasa, Simba’s father, will also appear to Kion as he did for Simba in the first movie.
