Having just finished up tryouts, the girls basketball team is ready to bounce back in the 2015-2016 season.

The team had a rough season last year, finishing last in the Metro League.

Coach Matthew Gildner is happy that there is “a lot of experience returning.”

The Hornets will have many seniors playing for them this year.

One of the key returning members is senior Diane Bond.

“I’m looking forward to this season because it’s my last one,” Bond said. “I think we’ll have a close team, and I’m hoping to enjoy it while I can.”

Gildner has worked with the current team for some time and anticipates improvement this season,.

“I’m looking forward to the girls’ growth and development on what we’ve worked on in the past,” Gildner said.

Girls’ basketball tips off at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at Northwestern.
