Holiday donations collected throughout community

With winter approaching, temperatures dropping, and families needing daily necessities in order to survive the harsh climate, the Kearsley community has come together to collect donations for those in need.

Some high school teachers have formed donation centers in their classrooms.

Mrs. Diane Wagoner, psychology teacher, plans to collect donations.

“I am taking donations all the way until the end of the year,” Wagoner said. “I am collecting donations because it is an easy way to fill a need.”

Donations will go to the Shelter of Flint, Christian Outreach, and the Kearsley Closet. These organizations will then distribute them to those in need within the community.

Items that can be donated include new, or like new, hats, gloves, scarves, and unopened personal hygiene products.

Donating to a good cause is a beneficial experience to not only those who receive the clothes but to those who donate as well.

Sophomore Jonathon Conley makes time to help.

“I have already made donations because I knew it would be going to people who truly were in need of my donations,” Conley said.

In KHS, students are more than welcome to drop off donations in the office or in rooms 110, 114, 406, and 418.

In addition, donations can also be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays at Pumpkin Patch on 4235 Crosby Road.

Donations are collected inside in the front office.
