Having a job in high school is beneficial

Is having a job in high school beneficial to a student or stressful?

People believe that having a job in high school can be stressful, but I believe that it can be beneficial to a student.

Having a job during school will provide students with more money to spend on important school functions or things of their own liking.

Junior Trevor Swickard believes that having a job while in school can interfere with grades.

“It can mess up your study habits and your grades could drop,” Swickard said.”It would be better to get a job in the summer.”

However, senior Jacob Moore disagrees with Swickard, believing that having a job is the best thing you can do.

“You can get a head start on saving for college,” Swickard said.

When students have jobs, they do not have to depend on anybody for money.

When you are providing yourself with your own money, you can spend it on anything you want to. Your parents will no longer have the power to dictate what you buy.

In addition, having a job when you are in high school will look really good on your resume.

The experience of having a job could possibly get you picked for a good position in a job that has a similar field of past employment.

Having a job also helps students stay focused on their schedule, keeping them on task and well organized.

It also helps students handle money by prioritizing the things that they buy.

Students will learn what kind of work ethic will work best for them, and it will help them to become a harder worker in the future.
