Perani Arena may have a new name coming by September.
The Perani Arena is looking to change its name by next month.
Since 2003, Perani has been the building’s name, but the deal expired in 2009.
The new owner of Perani, IMS USA Inc., is close to finalizing a multi-year naming rights partnership.
In February, IMS was seeking a deal that could last at least 10 years. There were three to four candidates.
The naming rights are expected to be finalized by the time the OHL season kicks off in September.
Along with renovations mentioned in this story, the arena is planning to host concerts and other events in the arena, and the Plymouth Whalers will play here, too.
