Fire clashes with ice: Flint’s new OHL team is the Firebirds
Fire will soon meet ice with the new Flint Firebirds coming to Perani Arena.
The name was made public on March 16, along with the new firebird logo.
The logo is of a firebird with its wings held open, and the colors orange, gray, navy blue, and white. Flynnagain Productions of Mississauga, Ontario, designed the logo and uniforms.
The jerseys, made by CMM-Reebok, will be in two styles. One will be blue with orange, and the other will be white with orange.
With more than 4,000 submissions and 2,000 names, the Flint Firebirds were only 28 of the submissions.
The name was the last to be registered by IMS on Feb. 25, just before the deadline.
