Vollmar leads golfers at county championship
The golf team competed at the Genesee County Championship on Monday, May 7, at the Atlas Valley Country Club in Goodrich.
Kearsley placed 13 out of the 18 teams at the championship, with a score of 394.
Junior Tyler Gronauer shared some pre-match positivity as he prepared for the competition.
“I’m super excited to be getting into it,” Gronauer said. “We’re trying to keep our spirits up going into the game.”
Senior Jack Vollmar led the team, shooting an 85.
At the No. 2 and 3 spots, Gronauer and junior Stephen White both shot a 100.
Junior Logan Loyer finished with 109.
The Powers Catholic golf team came in first with a 300.
Grand Blanc placed second (321), and Lapeer was third (330).
The Hornets will be golf next at the Flint Elks on Thursday, May 8.
