On Saturday, Feb. 24, the cheer team took seventh place at the MHSAA Division 2 regional competition hosted by Fenton High School.

The team earned a total of 225.20 points during round one, 208.34 during round two, and 294.90 during round three.

The Hornets earned a grand total of 720.44 points.

Allen Park won first place with 786.72 points, and Gibraltar Carlson took second with 785. 90 points.

Additionally, Southgate Anderson took third with 773.38 points.

Assistant Coach Kaitlyn Alburtus is proud of the team for its hard work.

“KVC faced many challanges this season but still managed to make it one of the best one’s yet,” Alburtus said. “We are beyond proud to be able to bring home another Metro League title this year.”

This wraps up the competitive season for the 2017- 2018 year. Tryouts for football season are still to be determined.
