Girls bowling picks up two wins
The girls bowling team’s last home match of the season took place Thursday, Feb. 8, against Brandon.
The Hornets owned the match from the beginning and ended it 30-0.
With Baker games of 215 and 204 against Brandon’s 151 and 151, this gave the team a 10-0 lead into the individual games.
Seniors Barbara Hawes and Emma Boychuk led the team.
Hawes scored a 224 and 238, while Boychuk assisted with games of 226 and 180.
The first individual was a big game of 1,084 actual to the Blackhawk’s 734.
In the second game, the Hornets bowled a 907 game to Brandon’s 720 game.
The total final pinfall was Kearsley 2,410 to Brandon’s 1,756.
Clio Match
The Hornets also bowled against Clio, Saturday, Feb. 10. The Metro League match took place at Colonial Lanes.
After the 28-2 win against the Mustangs, the girls are now 15-0 on the season with one match left.
The match started with winning the Baker games at 205 and 206 to Clio’s games of 149 and 113.
The Hornets kept it coming with a 10-0 lead into the individual games and put up a 1,054 game in the first game to Clio’s 816.
In the second individual game, the Hornets earned another 1,054 game while the Mustangs scored 833.
The total final pinfall was Kearsley 2,519 to Clio’s 1,911.
Hawes and sophomore Imari Blond kept the team in check this match.
Hawes bowled games of 212 and 278, while Blond bowled 249 and 224.
The next and final match of the season could be a fierce one against Flushing the league’s No. 2 team at B’s Bowling on Thursday, Feb. 15.
