The girls bowling team is excited after defeating Holly on Saturday, Jan.27, earning its 100th victory in a row.

The girls bowling team put its 98-match win streak on the line Saturday, Jan. 27, and it ended well.

Kearsley upended Swartz Creek first in a league doubleheader at Clio Bowling Arcade and then beat Holly, marking the 100th straight Flint Metro League win for the Hornets in a span of nine years.

The team’s last loss was nine years ago in January 2009.

Swartz Creek

The Hornets held a 10-0 lead going into the individuals and didn’t let up the rest of the match.

Putting up a 1,048 first game score to Swartz Creek’s 846, the Hornets continued their dominance with a 1,017 second game score to the Dragon’s 792.

The Hornets ended the individuals with a 2,065 game score. This is the fourth highest two game set in the state this season for girls bowling.

The final total pinfall for the match was Kearsley 2,480 to Swartz Creek’s 1,962.

The Hornets won the match 29.5-0.5.

Junior Alexis Roof led this match with games of 227 and 230.

Senior Barbara Hawes helped the team out by scoring a 225 and 217.

Holly

The Hornets also beat Holly later Saturday afternoon.

The match began with Baker games of 248 and 174 to Holly’s 154 and 148.

Leading 10-0, the Hornets scored a 1,000 team game to the Bronco’s 424 in the first individual game.

The Hornets had a 1,018 actual to Holly’s 487 after the second individual.

The total final pinfall for the match was Kearsley 2,440 to Holly 1,213, and the final score was 29-1.
