Sophomore Imari Blond assists the girls bowling team in another win Wednesday, Jan. 17, against Brandon.

The girls bowling team bowled the highest team game in the state so far this season — a 1,141 actual.

The Hornets won, 30-0, at the Metro League match against Brandon on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

It started with Baker games of 203 and 205 to the Blackhawks 148 and 124. The Hornets took a 10-0 lead.

During the first individual game, the team bowled a 1,141 to Brandon’s 802.

In the second team game, the Hornets had a 1,007 game to Brandon’s 725.

Kearsley won the total final pinfall 2,556-1,799.

The impressive 2,556 for the two-game series is the highest in the state so far for the team.

Senior Barbara Hawes led the team with high games of 248 and 234.

While sophomore Imari Blond also attacked by bowling games of 250 and 193.

The Hornets are still leading the Metro League with an 8-0 record.

The next match will be tough competition at the Cherry Hill Lanes in Clarkston, Saturday, Jan. 20.

The Hornets will go against the Owosso Trojans who are 7-1 in the season and sit in second place in the league.
