Girls basketball beats Swartz Creek
The girls basketball team beat Swartz Creek in a tight game.
The Hornets prevailed 53-51 at home Friday, Jan. 5.
The key scorers were sophomore Jakeira Wash with 16 points and junior Zaria Mitchner with 11 points.
Junior Alexis Echols notes the team making improvements throughout the game, aiming to better their game.
“We started off playing bad defense and offense, but still managed to stay in the game,” Echols said. “At halftime we stepped up and played well as a team, which is what matters after all.”
With all games but one reported, Kearsley improved to 4-4 overall, making them 2-2 in the Flint Metro League.
The Hornets next game is Tuesday, Jan. 9, at home against Linden.
