The hockey team was active last week, playing three games in four days.

United, which is made up of players from Kearsley, Brandon, Holly, and Lake Fenton, played well in all three games, winning each one.

United vs. Southgate Anderson

United was on the road to take on Southgate Anderson on Saturday, Dec. 2.

The team posted three goals in both the first and second periods, scoring two goals in the third.

Kearsley junior Tyler Keller had a spectacular night in net, posting his first shutout of this season with 15 saves.

Lake Fenton senior Alec Copeland scored a hat trick and had four penalty minutes.

Kearsley senior Dru Sweers scored a goal and received two assists. He had four penalty minutes.

Holly freshman Colby Polutanovich scored two goals and an assist. He has nine points in his last three games.

Holly Senior A.J. Incammicia scored a goal and received an assist.

Lake Fenton senior Drew Hobson had two assists, with five points in his last three games.

Brandon sophomore Noah Bolton had a goal and an assist, as well as 14 penalty minutes, the most by any player this season.

United visits Grand Blanc on Saturday, Dec. 9.

United vs. Mid-Michigan

United took on Mid-Michigan on Friday, Dec. 1.

The team capitalized on scoring chances and took a 2-1 lead in the first period.

United added three goals in the second period, but let in two.

Mid-Michigan rallied back, outscoring United 3-2 in the third.

United won the game 7-6, winning back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Copeland scored two goals, with one coming on the power play.

Sweers led the team with two goals and three assists. Both goals came shorthanded.

Polutanovich scored two goals and one assist, his second three-point game.

Hobson had a goal and an assist in the tight game.

Lake Fenton freshman Macgregor Hepburn assisted on two of United’s goals.

Keller had another good night in net, posting a .812 save percentage. He also assisted on a United goal.

The team had four penalty minutes.

United vs. Fenton/Linden

United went on the road to face Fenton/Linden on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

They went down three goals in the first period, but rallied back in the second to take a 4-3 lead.

Fenton/Linden tied it up in the third and forced United’s first overtime game of the season.

Sweers had two goals and two assists in the close game, including the game-winning goal.

Polutanovich had a goal and two assists.

Lake Fenton senior Aidan Flick and Hobson also scored goals for the team, while Hepburn assisted on a goal.

Keller had a solid night in net, posting a .905 save percentage and allowing only four goals.

The team had eight penalty minutes overall.
