Softball sweeps the Blackhawks
The Softball team won both games of a doubleheader against Brandon on Monday, May 8.
Kearsley 6, Brandon 0
Junior Olivia Dunsmore started for the Hornets, pitching seven innings of no-run ball. Dunsmore had six strikeouts and allowed four hits.
Leading the team on offense was junior Kaitlyn Foco, who had three RBI.
Seniors Loren Jolin and Brittney Dick combined for two hits and three runs scored.
Kearsley 5, Brandon 1
Freshman Claire Ouellette took the mound, managing to pitch her seven innings while only giving up one run and striking out four.
Foco again was a force offensively, hitting a two-run home run.
Ouellette also did well with the bat, managing two hits, one of which was a triple.
The team has improved its record to 10-6 overall, 8-2 in the league and plays next on Saturday, May 13, when it hosts the Kearsley Invitational.
