Softball loses doubleheader in K-O Clash

Kearsley hosted a doubleheader against Owosso on Friday, April 28, competing for the K-O Clash trophy.

The softball team lost both games, but Kearsley still came away with the trophy.

Kearsley 3, Owosso 8

Senior Loren Jolin and junior Katie Lewis were top performers offensively, combining for three runs scored.

Junior Olivia Dunsmore pitched a complete game giving up eight earned runs. Dunsmore only gave one free pass on the bases though, and racked up five strikeouts.

Kearsley 3, Owosso 4

Freshman Claire Ouellette took the mound for the second game. Ouellette gave up four earned runs and struck out seven batters while allowing zero walks.

Kearsley is now 6-6 overall, 5-3 in the league.

The Hornets will travel to Powers next where they’ll play the Chargers on Wednesday, May 3.

Baseball

The baseball team also lost two games in the Clash, falling to the Trojans 7-2 in the first game and 13-0 in the second.

Next up, the baseball team heads to Linden to take on the Eagles on Monday, May 1.
