Girls bowling defeats Linden, Roof scores highest two-game series

Th girls bowling team beat Linden on Saturday, Feb. 11., making the teams record improve to 14-0.

The Hornets started the match with Baker games of 159 and 187.

The total final pinfall for the match was Kearsley 2,364 to Linden’s 1,639, making the final score 29-1.

Sophomore Alexis Roof had a 501 series, which was the highest two-game series for the girls this season in the Metro League.

Freshman Imari Blond also helped lead the team with scores of 258 and 203.

Blond describes her performance.

“I had a really rough start at first in the Baker games,” Blond said. “The single games got easier when I tried my best to keep up with Alexis.”

This is the eighth straight season the girls have won the conference with an undefeated record. It was also their 88th straight match win.

“My team worked very well together,” Blond said. “They did great.”

The Metro League season will conclude Saturday, Feb. 18., with the league’s singles tournament. The bowling action starts at noon and is at Richfield Bowl.
