Girls basketball falls short against Holly

The Bronchos of Holly came to Kearsley and left having bested the girls basketball team 48-37 on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

Freshman Jakeria Wash was Kearsley’s leading scorer, coming away with 12 points.

This marks a season-high scoring total for the freshman, whose previous record was 11, set just two games ago in a 51-37 romping of Brandon on Friday, Jan. 13.

Holly sophomore Rebecca Fugate, their starting point guard, contributed 13 points to push past Wash and her Hornets.

The girls are now 4-6 overall, and 1-5 in league games.

Flushing currently sits atop the league standings at 7-0 and comes to town on Friday, Jan. 27.
