Boys basketball falls short against Oxford
The boys basketball team played host to Oxford on Tuesday, Dec. 13, and lost 68-52.
Senior Chandler Ford led the charge for the Hornets, scoring 19 points.
The 3-0 Oxford team played well despite the balanced scoring attack from Kearsley, who had six players score.
Coach Paul Adas knows his team has struggled out of the gate.
“We need to improve our half-court offense,” Adas said. “We’ve struggled with transitions this season and that may cost us when we start conference play on Friday.”
The boys were down early, but came back to make it a close game in the third quarter.
Sophomore Saif Dawan, who was second in scoring with 12 points, is hopeful about the team’s performance going forward.
“We made a good comeback but fell short,” Dawan said.
The team, now 1-2 having lost to Flushing 60-50 Friday, Dec. 9, plays host to the Swartz Creek Dragons on Friday, Dec. 16.
