Soccer takes down North Branch
The soccer team defeated the North Branch Broncos 2-1 on Friday, April 15.
Junior Alexis Kelly scored the first goal in the first half of the game.
“I was over the moon when I made the goal,” Kelly said. “Despite the heat slowing us down, we pulled it together and scored two.”
Sophomore Marysa Gatica agrees with Kelly.
“The weather took a toll on the team,” she said. “Altogether, we had to push that much harder to try and get through the game.”
The second goal was scored by Gatica, after resting up at halftime. She hopes to improve on the team’s record last season.
“I do believe our record will be better than last year’s, but going undefeated is going to be a challenge,” Gatica said.
The Hornets (4-0 overall) return to the field at LakeVille on Monday, April 18.
