A Dairy Queen employee practices making her cones in preparation for Free Cone Day.

Mark your calendars, Free Cone Day is happening on Tuesday, March 15, at all participating Dairy Queen locations.

On this day only, you can get one free small cone per person.

However, before just taking your cone and leaving, you should think about donating. Employees should also be asking you if you would like to “dip it for the kids.”

What this means is that, for just a dollar donation, you can get your cone dipped in chocolate, cherry, or butterscotch hard dip.

This is still a lot cheaper than if you were getting a regular plain cone, or a dipped cone, and it goes toward a good cause.

This annual event is to raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

The CMNH is all about fundraising for children in hospitals to make sure they get proper treatment and so that hospitals are properly equipped to care for every child that needs it.

Whenever you step into a Dairy Queen, not just on Free Cone Day, it is always an option to donate. There should be a box labeled CMNH for donating.

So “dip it for the kids.” My fellow employees and I hope to see you there.
