Boys’ basketball loses to Clio

The boys’ basketball team was unable to claim a win Friday, Feb. 26.

The Hornets were beaten by the Clio Mustangs 62-56.

Junior Chandler Ford led the team with 14 points and dished out several assists.

Pulling down eight rebounds, senior Deitrick Young also scored 12 points.

In addition, sophomore Taveon Harris contributed nine points for the Hornets.

In the first quarter Kearsley struggled to knock down shots, only scoring five points, and gave the Mustangs a 14-point advantage going into the second quarter.

At the half, Clio was up 39-18.

The Hornets (3-16 overall, 2-11 league) were able to score more than the Mustangs in the second half, but unfortunately did not win the game.

Kearsley only lost by six points.

The team takes on Owosso on Tuesday, March 1, at 7 p.m.
