Girls’ bowling excited to defend state title
Winter sports are underway, and the state champs are ready to hit the lanes.
The girls’ bowling team went undefeated last year, and the Hornets have big plans for this year too.
Senior Hannah Ploof recently bowled her first 300 in preparation for the 2015-2016 season.
“I can’t wait for the season, and I think we will have another successful season if we work hard,” Ploof said.
In the past four years, the Hornets have won the Division 2 state championship trophy three times.
The team won the title during the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons, making them the current back-to-back defending champions.
The bowling coach, Mr. Rob Ploof, is eager to work with some new members to his team this year.
Tryouts begin on Monday, Nov. 16 at Richfield Bowl. The two other days are Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 18 and 19. All tryout are from 3-5 p.m.
“I am looking forward to working with some new girls,” Coach Ploof said. “We haven’t lost a conference match in more than six years. It will be fun trying to continue this streak, but it will be a challenge.”
