The boys’ basketball team anticipates playing a fast-paced offense while focusing on sound defense.

Coach Paul Adas is looking forward to coaching a new group of athletes and molding them into a successful and competitive team.

The team will be young this year after losing five seniors, including Bryce Jenkins and Jalen Gallery, who contributed 410 points throughout the 2014-2015 season.

Last year, the team finished with 12 overall wins and finished fourth in the Flint Metro League. The Hornets finished behind Holly, Flushing, and Fenton.

Adas has led his team from the bottom to the top since the 2007-2008 season, in which his team finished last in the FML.

Senior Deitrick Young will be a key returning player for the team this year.

He is looking forward to getting back on the court.

Young said, “We were very successful in our summer league with using our speed on offense and playing tight defense.”

Boys’ basketball tryouts began Monday, Nov. 16.
