UM-Flint will be holding a S.T.E.M. open house on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Murchie Science Building.
Featured subjects will include biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, and physics.
All perspective and current students, along with their families, are welcome to attend.
Mrs. Courtney Cox, physical science teacher, believes students should take advantage of this opportunity.
“Students at Kearsley interested in those fields of study should take advantage of this free opportunity to learn more,” Cox said.
Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the newly updated classrooms and lab space.
Attendees will also have the chance to ask department members and current students questions.
The Murchie Science Building is located in downtown Flint at 415 E. Kearsley Street.
There will be prizes at the door and then drawings to win other bigger prizes.
Some students, like junior Hannah Brackin, are “excited” to attend the open house.
“I think the experience of going will be very valuable,” Brackin said. “I am excited to go and check it out.”
