After a short break due to Covid-19, the after-school choir club, “Melody Makers” has returned! Students who once missed the joy of singing together outside of school are eager to rebuild this group.
This audition-based choir is composed of only the most talented and dedicated performers. The new revival has brought a renewed sense of excitement to the choir community and inspires the younger generations to come. For many students, choir is more than an activity, it’s a place where friendship and community forms. The return of Melody Makers has united students, creating a positive welcoming atmosphere filled with a shared passion. Members are quickly forming new friendships and supporting each other through upcoming performances and rehearsals.
Sophomore, La’Darius Phinisee, who joined choir for the first time this year, says the club has quickly bonded through their shared time in and outside of class.

Phinsee said, “In addition to a class I found fun, it also makes it much easier to socialize and make new friends.”
A returning member, senior Maggie Newark states a similar sentiment, “What I’ll miss the most about choir is the opportunity it gave me of meeting new people and learning others personalities.”
Seniors like Newark and others have stepped into the leadership role this year, helping mentor and guide younger members to success. Melody Makers continues to foster a sense of belonging and community among new and old students, proving that harmony extends beyond the music notes, but also through connection and shared purpose.
The revival of Melody Makers shows that when students come together, their passion can be turned into something extraordinary. This year Melody Makers will be showcasing their talent both at school performances and through special community events during the school year.
