Kearsley High School harbors creativity within students, and one way that creativity and personality is expressed here at Kearsley is through nails. Many of the students here at Kearlsey are regulars at different salons.
For example, senior, Abbigale Hogan, goes to Epic Nails in Swartz Creek. When asked how long she has been going there, she responded with 2.5 years. After learning a little bit more about her history with Epic Nails, I asked what keeps her coming back each time.
“I’m really close with my nail tech Anna, I know that any design I come in with, she will recreate it perfectly,” Hogan said. “We share the same birthday and I will be super sad when I have to go away to college and I won’t be able to see her.”
Due to the welcoming and warming environment that Epic Nails provides, Hogan has found a safe space that she can unwind and relax while doing something for herself.
However, Hogan isn’t the only one who has found herself a safe place. Senior, Nicole Naragon, has been a loyal patron to Nail Tek for two years now. Naragon explained that she started getting her nails done to prevent herself from biting her nails. Though Naragon doesn’t go for the crazy designs.
Naragon speaks very highly of the nail techs stating, “they always know how to accomplish whatever pictures I bring them.”
Naragon loves the cozy atmosphere that she steps into each time she is getting her nails done.
Going to the nail salon can create so many different memories. Getting your nails done can be one of the most relaxing and enjoyable experiences, and it can be a great place to make memories with the people closest to you. Sophomore, Cherish Parr, recalls memories that she made with fellow Kearsley student, senior, Lily Weidman, getting their nails done together before Parr’s freshman Homecoming dance.
Nail Salons are a place where girls can seek comfort while pampering themselves. These are one of the many places that can bring girls together and create life-long memories that they can look back on forever.
