The Girls Varsity Volleyball team made a powerful statement at the Hornets Nest Invitational this past weekend. With fierce determination and teamwork, the Hornets swept past Bendle and Waterford Mott in straight sets, earning a spot in the Gold Bracket. In the semi-finals, they battled hard against Brandon, and ultimately secured an impressive third-place finish.
Varsity Football vs Bay City
Friday night lights brought a thrilling victory for the Varsity Football team. Senior Riley Lewis fought his way into the end zone for a crucial touchdown, igniting the crowd and his teammates. After this, the Hornets powered through a two-point conversion to take the lead, Kearsley 8, Bay City 7. The defense held up for the rest of the game, securing them the win.
Girls Varsity Swim Team at Stephanie Rice Memorial Invitational
The Girls Varsity Swim Team made waves, literally, at the Stephanie Rice Memorial Invitational. Their speed, stamina, and team spirit were unmatched. Outpacing six other schools, the Hornets came in first place, earning the girls champion trophy with a total of 303 points.
Boys Varsity Soccer Against North Branch
In a tightly contested match against North Branch, the Boys Varsity Soccer team came out on top with a 1 – 0 victory. Senior Landon Bent scored the game winning point thanks to an assist from fellow senior Adam Howell. The Hornets’ defense held strong for the remainder of the game, locking down the win.
